On Friday, July 12, 2013 at approximate 2:30 pm officers from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Diaz Police Department executed a search warrant on the residence of Jerry Lamar Ellis at 1315 Cindy Lane in Diaz.
During the search warrant officers found a loaded weapon and a large amount of ammunition, a quantity of ICE Methamphetamine, Bath Salts, and prescription hydrocodone pills.
Jerry Lamar Ellis was arrested at the scene and transported to the Jackson County Detention Center where he was booked in on felony charges of Possession of Controlled Substance with intent to deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance with intent to deliver Bath Salts, Possession of Controlled Substance Hydrocodone, Simultaneous Possession of drugs and firearms, Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Ellis was taken before Judge Barbara Griffin of the Newport District Court on Wednesday, July 17th where he was arraigned and bond set at $500.000.00 and he was ordered to appear in the Circuit Court of Jackson County on Wednesday, August 7, 2013.
