The Jackson County Jail and Detention Center is under the supervision and direction of Mike Smith, the Jail Administrator.

All persons who are arrested within Jackson County and taken into custody are transported to the Detention Center for booking and incarceration. The Detention Center consists of two 10 bed housing areas for male inmates and one 3 bed housing area for female inmates. There are also three isolation cells, a drunk tank, and a suicide watch cell. The Detention Center houses both pre-trial detainees and post-conviction inmates who are serving sentences or awaiting transport to the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
