DEPUTY SHERIFF(S) POSITION:

 

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office has currently filled all of our deputy sheriff positions at this time.  We thank you for considering our agency to start a career and urge you to continue to check our website for potential job openings.


            DETENTION OFFICER(S) POSITION:

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for detention officer. We are currently seeking one female and one male position.

                  

Open Date: May 23, 2017

Closing Date: Until positions are filled

 

Applicants can download and print the (employment application, authority to release information form, and the application checklist) from our website www.jacksonsheriff.org under the “Employment Opportunities” section or pick one up at the sheriff’s office located at 3300 Theatre Drive, Newport, Arkansas 72112.

 

All three forms listed above must be properly filled out, signed, and sworn to by a notary public. Failure to disclose any or all information and provide all items from the application checklist will not be considered.

Applications must be turned in before the closing date and submitted to Captain Cindy Lane.

Starting Salary: $22,500.00 plus life insurance, health insurance, dental, vision, and APERS retirement.

 

Requirements:

  •  Must have a High School Diploma or GED.

  •  Must be able to pass a drug screen.

  •  Must be at least 18 years of age.

  •  Must be able to work weekends; holidays; or any shift requested.

  •  Must be honest, reliable, positive attitude, and good people skills.

  •  Must be able to multi-task and handle stressful and emergency situations.

  •  Must possess a valid Arkansas driver’s license.

  •  Must be able to pass a background check No felony convictions or violent misdemeanor convictions.

DISPATCHER(S) POSITION: 

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for a part-time dispatcher.

 

Open Date: May 24, 2017

Closing Date: Until positions are filled
